I'm an education
professional in my 40s and live near Cologne, Germany. I've been an avid gamer
since the 80s and have only recently returned to my roots in the hobby.
Around 2009/2010, I grew increasingly dissatisfied with my gaming (via fourth edition D&D) and simultaneously got fascinated by the old school renaissance. In the summer of 2011, I finally took the plunge and cooked up and ran an adventure for the first edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay which I hadn’t touched in twenty years. The adventure has since evolved into a full-blown campaign and I and my players are having an absolute blast.

With this blog I am embarking on a personal quest to better understand the
what, why and how of old school
gaming. I also want to become a Killer DM (again) because I believe it to be
the key to my endeavour.
Forgive me if I sound
didactic at times -- it's an occupational disease and I assure you that I'm
interested in discussion and not nearly as full of myself as I might seem.
I can be contacted via Johann@gmx.net with another dot and my surname (Mitland) thrown in for good measure. Johann@gmx.net itself does not work.

Hi Johann! Thanks for the Award! The Trinity of Oldschool Gaming is cool stuff, so kep it up. I'll add your blog to my blogroll and hope for similar articles :)
